Ferrets and Martens are mammals, and so they can get rabies. In some countries, ferrets are kept as pets, like the one pictured here.

Although rabies in ferrets is rare, people often vaccinate pet ferrets to protect them from rabies in the wild animal population. In 2006 there were 3 known cases of rabies in domestic ferrets in the USA.
