Rodents can get rabies

Rodents such as guinea pigs, mice, rats, woodchucks or muskrats, squirrels, chipmunks and prairie dogs are all mammals, and can be infected with rabies.

While it is not common to find rabies in rodents, there have been reported incidents in groundhogs.
